We had a pretty low key 4th...it's kinda tough with two still- napping littles to get too wild, especially for fireworks! They don't start them till dark, so like 9:30 around here! We kept Mads awake and it was, um, interesting. She did ok but was incoherent toward the end there! Papa was nice enough to stay with Gavs so we could all take our neighbor's golf cart downtown for the light show!
We had a little festive breakfast then hung out in the pool to avoid the blistering heat!
We headed to Mo's in the late afternoon for food and more pool fun!
We came back to our place for fireworks. We played with some "poppers" and sparklers while we waited!
The next day I got a hair across my rear and decided to paint the house. Yeah, by myself (while the boys constructed Maddie's new swing set). I was over it. From the second we looked at the house my first thought was "ewwwww, that old, awful, 1980's blue. Ick." So after three years, it was beyond time.

I'm in love!! It took forever and there's still the back to do (plus the porch, the fence, the trim...oy) but so far, so much better!!
