Friday Funday!

I love my Fridays off with my boy...haven't had one in a while because of some changes happening at work so I took full advantage of the {slightly!} cooler weather and took him to a local pumpkin patch to pick one out to paint. We ran into our friend Stella and they had a blast running around! Mind you, it's still hot but you can be out for an hour without passing out, so, slight improvement I say! I'll take anything at this point.

Yeah, active almost two year old and a paintbrush miiiight not be one of my brighter ideas but he had so much fun, look at that face. Then he painted the table, then himself... a quick bath and all was new again!
I so value this time, he seems to be growing at warp speed! I blinked and he's two. Love this little guy to pieces, he's so sweet, so silly, so wild....and all mine.

Run, Forest!

When you think of Maddie, you kinda think "she's nuts". I mean this in the nicest possible way...not legitimately cray-cray but just wild. High-strung. Type A, some would say. Her teacher says "gifted" I say ADHD. Po-TAY-to, Po-TAH-to.
So in trying to figure out a good sport for her to try, my first thought? Running. Lots and LOTS of running. Tire her little hyped up self out. Expel some of that energy. So, what sport involves the most amount of running? Soccer!
She seemed really excited about it so we signed her up at the last minute at the Skatium's City League. 65 bucks for the season. That's a pretty cheap way to get some calm in this house. The little one figured out how to throw a tantrum recently and hasn't quit. Hyper+tantrums=straight-jackets all the way around.

Her first game was nothing short of hilarious! A wave of little bodies chasing the ball with no real plan of action...well, except Maddie. She was told by Coach (who has nick-named her Princess) to hold her position. So she did. For like five solid minutes. We had to yell across the rink (it takes place on an ice skating rink), through the plexi-glass to RUNNNNN!! When she finally figured out what we were saying, run she did. Aimlessly and whilst spinning and randomly stopping to tell someone what to do (I see coaching in her future!), but running nonetheless!

I'm thinking (mind you this is an early prediction) that we do not have a future Mia Hamm on our hands BUT she had a blast and gave us a good giggle and, at the end of the day, isn't that what it's all about anyway??

AAAANNNNDDD, later that afternoon....second tooth, gone!
The Tooth airy didn't have time for sparkly dollars and all that mess this time but she didn't seem to care...it all spends the same!
