Kindergarten Graduation Party!

GASP! I learned Edison Park does not do a Kindergarten....well, anything! Huh?! I mean, I don't need like a full on ceremony but a little party? Something? Nada.

So, what does a party planning lover do? Have her own, duh! I invited some of Maddie's buds who are also headed to first grade and we had ourselves a little soiree.

We made caps out of scrapbook paper and paper bowls. The girls decorated them  and we had a little photo shoot, complete with signs saying what they wanted to be when they grew up. Maddie said "a vet". Hm, who knew? Last week it was a teacher. A singer the week before. A singing veterinarian professor!

And, of course, as it's a jillion degrees, a little pool time!

Happy Graduation kiddos! Watch out First Grade!

So THIS happened today.....

So this cat has been ready to potty train but I'm lazy and don't wanna. I do, however wanna save money on diapers so I'm jazzed about it. Tonight, he was doing his usual diaper refusal and ran into the bathroom (which he often does...he "pretends" he's going). Suddenly I hear Maddie squealing, 'HE'S PEEEEIIIINNNGGGG!!!", so we run over and low and behold, he's doing it. Smiling, clapping and urinating. He probably won't do it again for a month but hey, it's a start.

The bigger one had field day today. Contrary to the photo below that shows her in the lead running, this child is sooooo not athletic. You're welcome doll. Daddy blames that one on yours truly. She'd rather hang with her buds and do ring around the rosy. I mean, I get it.

She had fun and I was glad I could hang for a bit...working Mammas never get to do the fun stuff!

Mother's Day 2015

It got off with a bang! Breakfast in bed, home-made cards and this awesome ceramic bowl Maddie made herself! She's brought home millions of paper projects but this was her first hand-made, non-paper gift! Super exciting and I actually love it!

We also went to church....usually we go the night before to get to the beach early, as has been our tradition but there have been reports of some crazy flesh eating bacteria so, um, nah.

We had the clan over for dinner and swimming. I made lasagna the night before so all we had to do was toss it in the oven. Mother's Day=no work for mamma.

...and yet somehow, here we are, in the kitchen.

I love being the mother of these two amazing kids. We make a million mistakes but I know, without a doubt they are happy! They make my world a better place and give my life so much purpose and joy. I'm so lucky God chose me to take care of them....
Pretty low key, but honestly, exactly what I wanted! My peeps, good food and a little spoiling! Mission accomplished!
