Killing kindy!💪

I have to admit....I was a bit worried about this one. What with the inability to sit still,  penchant for firing a gazillion questions in under a minute and general class clown shenanigans....but he's has totally redeemed himself! He's showing Kindergarten who's boss. Perfect grades,  top of the behavior chart,  line leader.... all in the first quarter!

Here's to hoping it's not all downhill from here...

Family photos

It has been a hot minute (like 3 years) since we had professional family photos done. I honestly can't justify paying that much money....especially when I take 47 bazillion weekly myself. BUT, that said, I am rarely in them cause I'm taking them so...

I won a free session with this ah-mazing photog friend and I am so in love....

Who knew we were so adorable? ;)

She legitimately said..."ok guys, look at the one with the stinkiest feet." Dude....this kid has the nastiest hooves! I don't know what he does all day with his tootsies but when we can't decipher between whether or not he took his shoes off or the dog pooped, we've got real problems....

But look how adorable they are...

They were full on slapping each other minutes before his photo.

This guy.....doesn't get better.

Looking at these makes me realize how blessed I am...we are. These three are my people. I've never felt more of a sense of belonging than when we're together.

I only cried once...ish

Welp, it's official. My baby is a Kindergartener and my oldest is a fourth grader.

*sigh*

These two were so excited to be in school together for the first time ever! Maddie immediately grabbed Gavin and told him to follow her and Gavin defiantly resisted and insisted he knew where to go. Cue the bickering...

It was a shocking change from their typical interaction at home (insert sarcastic tone here).

It suddenly all hit me...these kids are growing up so fast. Even Gavin, with his blankie and need to cuddle is starting to act more mature....save for the occasional tantrum. Maddie, meanwhile is becoming a young lady before my very eyes. I just pray they will be happy and well-adjusted as the years go on like their father and I. Uh-oh....

Gavin got Mrs. Pavese, Maddie's teacher for Kindy too! She's great and he told me he loves her almost as much as Miss Hollan (no one can hold a candle as of yet).

Because they deserve it and maaaaybe a little pre-emptive schmoozing, I thought a little gesture of appreciation/warning may be nice.

Since I'm the queen of throwing all the things away (when you live in a mouse house with zilcho storage, ya gotta get less sentimental), I have been photographing little crafts and pictures. This one definitely needed a snapshot.

Gizmo's first birthday

Why yes, yes I did throw my dog a party. Mind you, no guests arrived because Maddie had the poops but a party was had, complete with homemade doggy treats, a pupcake and party decorations.

And to think,  I don't even like dogs that much....

What an addition this furball has been....minus the constant chewing of my shoes and undies, he's pretty great.  He has made this non dog person a full on party for a friggin dog....person.
