It was a weeeee bit tough this year....we decided I'd stay home for the summer since I had the opportunity to do it with my job and the fact that childcare/camp pretty much eats my paycheck so we were pretty broke! The jewelry biz has been amazing but certainly not enough to retire on!
That said, we found a great little cabin in the Georgia mountains owned by one of Garret's friends/coworkers from Verot. She gave us a great deal! The description was as follows: a log cabin overlooking the mountains with a hot tub, porch and firepit. Ummmmkkkkkkk. Where do I sign?!
On the way up we hit a BBQ place Garret claimed was deemed "the best BBQ..." in the, I dunno, Southeast maybe? Anyhoo, since he's a carnivore and a boy, we made the detour....
He said it was "ok, no North Carolina BBQ." Ok picky. Sheesh.
While we waited for the cabin to be cleaned, we hit a nearby park....
And, it was just as described...
The next morning we decided to go for a little hike and swim in a nearby lake....
There was also an apple orchard close by so we had a cider and listened to some live music!
We found yet another lake and decided to get a little paddle boat. Um, yeah. Not as relaxing as one would imagine.
It was really nice...not a ton to do but super relaxing and affordable! The kids just loved being able to run wild and enjoy the outdoors!
And, of course, we just haaaad to make a quick stop at Busch Gardens on the way home since we have free passes and all....
We also decided to stop at the Florida Aquarium. Totally coulda skipped it. Very expensive for not very much. Meh....I suppose every trip has a lame moment...this would be it.
It was really nice to get to be with my little family...we have so much fun together!
