Our sweet boy went and unwittingly broke my heart in a million pieces...he turned one.
I feel so proud and excited to see what his adorable little self becomes but it's so bittersweet too. My last baby is no longer...a baby. As I incessantly remind Maddie, they will always be my babies but in reality, they are growing, changing beings and it kiiiiiiills me to loosen the umbilical cord.
But, if it just HAD to happen, I figured we'd give him one heck of a party. A day-before-the-National-Championship-FSU-themed party. Let's say it was the first time Daddy was super in to party planning. He usually half-glances at my inspiration photos, fabric swatches and the like and just nods in agreement, "yup, yeah sure, looks great babe." I secretly relish the control when it comes to this stuff but I did need a bit of help with constructing the "goal posts" and putting lines on the field. He loved it. We may not get him to butt out from this point forward. I didn't entirely think it through....
I have to admit, all this stinky boy stuff was kinda fun!
- We kinda wanted it to be like a tailgate, complete with cornhole, touch football and yummy football food!
A friend gave me all this fabric so I thought a little photo booth would be fun! Never mind that the fence is
only 6 feet tall and some heads were hanging over...detail oriented I am not....
Garret thought these shirts would be fun. Loved them!!
Got almooooost everyone!
He loved his cake...although as much of a little wild man as he is, he was meek with it....thought for sure he'd demolish the thing!!
I hope my little man had a great time....he sure seemed to! He loves to be around other kids and got some fab gifts! Surrounded by loved ones....doesn't get much better!
