Enjoying "Fall"

Finally, Fall...you know, that season I incessantly gripe about every year.
I just.....can't. It was a hundred degrees. I may occasionally have a flair for the dramatic but no, for REAL. One.Hundred.Degrees.
But, as we do each year, we try to make the best of it so we hit our fave little farm, enjoyed a hayride (all the while praying it wouldn't stop in the stagnant heat whilst the sun blazed on us above), played on the playground, visited the animals and found some fun photo ops.
It may have even been worth the buckets of sweat.....

We even ran into Gavin's buddy, Adlei!

My little ice princess

Only this kid would decide her activity of choice would be ice skating. In Florida. When it's a hundred degrees outside.  Although better that than we parents schlepping to the ball field sitting in the direct sunlight in the sweltering heat! I dare say my toes even felt cold!
She had an absolute blast...said it was the best day of her life! She has lots of those....

Our neighbor Niam was even there...we seem to run into him everywhere!

I was so proud of how fearless she was! Considering she's only ever set feet on ice a couple of other times, she did really well! Watch out Olympics, here we come! ;)

Caleb's playground

It finally came to life! The AH-MAZING playground Mo and Rob had envisioned!
What a day full of emotions....

Mo had said, very shortly after Caleb's death that she wanted a playground in his honor. He loved to swing, especially in treatment (the docs thought the rocking motion was a form of pain control) and he gravitated to every playground he saw. The Villas, being a huge community, has had a large amount of property with a small "clubhouse" but nothing as far as activities were concerned. Since Rob grew up there and they have lived there now together for years, they felt it would be a special way to impact the community. They were so right! The community helped raise the hefty amount required and...
Caleb's Superheroes Memorial Playground came to life!

They have done so much in Caleb's honor and I've been blessed to be a part of his legacy ....
