Our first Lemonade Stand!

Our first Lemonade Stand!

It wasn't much fuss....the kids woke up and, after clearly discussing and plotting amongst themselves asked, ney, begged  to have one totally randomly. So, after grabbing a poster board and some Country Time at the Dollar Store we were ready (thankfully we had some fresh lemons that we added for some oomph).

Our neighbors are far too kind. They stopped, waved, honked....these kids thought they were big stuff. Maddie, after being told multiple times to "keep the change" decided to stop offering it. We had to have a conversation about that but gotta love that entrepreneurial spirit!

Our neighbor friend, Ivonne helped out so, between the three of them made like 7 bucks a piece! Not bad for an hour....it was just waaaaay too hot to do much longer!

Some of Maddie's classmates even biked over....so sweet. Don't tell but she totally crushes on the little boy...

They had a blast. They've already asked to go to Toys R Us to spend the loot. I don't have the heart to tell them it's gonna be slim pickins with 7 bucks.

Poor little Bud-Bud....

Poor Buddy....he gets left in the dust a lot, what with having an older sister with hood friends that just hops on her bike and rides off. I mean, yay for me cause, well, I'm obsessed but I think he feels left out.  All he wants in life is to do all the big kid stuff Sissy gets to do. But, some things he's just not big enough for and well, I don't wanna shove baby bro down big sister's throat too much.

So we do things. Me and my buddy things. We play with sidewalk chalk, eat popsicles and run through sprinklers. I don't think he's got it so rough.....

But, she always comes back and, save for the near-constant bickering, these two are truly best buds. Makes my heart so full.

Father's Day 2016

We have the best dad...ok, not we, but they but I mean, he kinda takes care of me and fills my heart and I never really had a dad soooo, yeah we have the best!

He asked for a relaxing pool day, yummy food and a Yeti cup. Mmmmk. Easy peasy!

Uncle Greg was kind enough to have us over! We swam and grilled ribs and all kinda of yumminess and Garret got good use of that cup, making sure the beer did, in fact, stay as cold as the claims. Not sure it stayed in the cup long enough but I digress.

It's so nice to have Tamra home too...all together again!

Our kids adore their father and for good reason. He's just....great. I mean, patient, loving, fun....he's truly everything a husband and father should be. I can't imagine going through this life and raising these little humans with anyone else. I hope he knows how much we love him....no day or card or words could ever be enough to show what's in my heart for this man.

a little getaway....

So this hot stud of a husband whisked me away on a one night staycation at a fansay hotel. He left me for five days...alone...with the heathens to golf and fish the week prior so I'm pretty sure it was a guilt thing but whatevs. Hotel. Dinner. People cleaning up after me. I think we're even.

We stayed at Sanibel Harbor and although the weather had been icky all week, we had a perfect day for the pool.

Then I got to go a yummy dinner. In heels and lipstick and didn't have to cut anyone's food or tell them to eat for the 987th time. Glorious.

And then, they descended. It suddenly got super loud and unrelaxy....but. ya know what? It was a blast. We spent the day having froo froo drinks, splashing around and being...us. All of us....and while the silence and calm and relaxation were fabulous for  a short while, I wouldn't have it any other way. These noisy, silly people are my everything.

Second grade, here she comes!!

Welp, the girl did it...killed first grade, recommended for gifted classes next year and grew a new set of chompers! We're so proud of the student she's becoming....with the exception of the occasional gripe about homework (can't blame ya kid), she loves school and is a voracious learner...and a little social butterfly (duh).
It seems so cliche' to say but man, time really does fly! I swear she was just singing her ABC's yesterday.....

Academic Fair 2016

As the school year nears its end, the kiddos had their academic fair. Maddie selected The Statue of Liberty. She had the option to make a 3D model or dress up. I mean, was there really a decision to made?! We are a crafty family but a model of a person? An iconic symbol of freedom?? Nah, uh.
I voted10 bucks of fabric and a smile. Look how cute....good call.
