Besties....

Because they both find fart noises hilarious.
Because he climes to the top bunk to sleep next to her.
Because she teaches him how to jump rope.
Because they pray for one another each night.
Because we try to harvest a relationship built on intense loyalty.
Because one day, all too soon, she'll need her space and he'll choose his friends.

Easter crafting!

Maddie's class treats.....sugar on a stick! You're welcome Miss Stabnick ;)

The Ripo kids and Bella joined us for egg coloring!

I thought I'd given up on these bunny bank robber masks after last year but they're just too much fun!

Easter Egg Hunt #1 in the books!

We went for our first (of three!) egg hunts on a somewhat cloudy and super humid day! Sweating our heads off by 10:15 am is always my personal fave thing to do. The kids never seem to be as bothered as their griping parents, thank goodness!

This one was at Centennial Park downtown.  They do a few activities as well so a little sidewalk chalk and cornhole went down before the bunny arrived.

Gavin is not a fan of suited characters. He loves the idea of it and swears he's gonna get close until the creepy character arrives. Can't say I blame him.

His sister, on the other hand heard "dance party" and made BFF's with the bunny.

Enjoying their loot! Candy before 11am and lunch...it must be a holiday....

Caleb's Birthday

Also known as St. Patty's Day...we try to be festive but it's also an icky day. For me personally, it was really sad this year. I guess it's that my little guy is almost the exact age as Caleb when the doctor told Mo and Rob he had cancer. It puts me in a "mom space". The emotions are deeper, they cut more now as a mother. Imagining those moments....I literally can't.

We did a little "gold coin find" and gave whoever found the most some cash. They all got cash, cause, well, tears.

After a yummy Shepard's Pie Mo made, we did our annual balloon release. Twelve. Mo and I talked about what we thought he'd look like. He was only 4. He'd be 12.  It still all seems so unreal. Like it happened to someone else. But, here we are again, releasing balloons we hope he sees and knows he's never forgotten....
All too real.
Happy Birthday Buddy. Miss you every day.
