Gobble Gobble!

Yessssssss...it was actually a bit cold for Thanksgiving!! I got to wear a sweater, boots and a scarf....and totally didn't break a sweat (whoop whoop!). It's the little things....

A few days before the big day, the girls decided they wanted to be a pilgrim and Indian....luckily they each wanted to be the opposite or some serious catfighting would have ensued!

We started Thanksgiving Day with the Macy's Parade, breakfast and a walk. May as well start burning those 3000 extra calories early!

We did the obligatory multi-house schlep but we get two full meals so who are we to complain?!

Gavin thoroughly enjoyed his first Thanksgiving....I mean, unlimited food, his people...but of course he would!

So much to be thankful for...this year coming to a close is making me reflect on how amazing it has been. Our family became complete and a thousand new memories were made. Here's to a million more....

GO NOLES...in person!

We went to Tallahassee. Alone. For the weekend. I mean, does it get any better?! Add to that getting to hang with one of Garret's college buddies and his fab wife and a BLOW OUT game=pretty awesome! Oh, and hangin' with  future Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks?! That's just how we roll...no big deal. ;) Not much else to add....the pics speak for themselves!!

 Hung out with Bobby!

Oh, and they have tables with troughs for beer. Carry on....

Touring the beautiful campus a little!

 New (old) friends!

Yeah, he was all "Can I take a picture with you guys?". We took a tail gating break to oblige him ;)

Seeing our first touchdown (Amanda's first time at FSU and well, my story is a long one...)!

What a GREAT time (and amazing team!). I would normally sooner gouge out my gown eyes than sit through a football game but the hubs has infected me with his passion. I almost kinda like it...now if only I could just get it! I have a feeling I'll be learning...

Roseola....again!

The yucky virus has attacked yet another child! The good thing about a second child is you don't quite freak out about everything like with the first! I kinda knew right away what we were dealing with after brother bear got a high fever and then BOOM, rash all over. Took him to the Doc juuuust in case and as I suspected. Poor buddy. But, as of post, good as new and sweet as everrrr!

Halloween!

One of my faves...Halloween! I don't even know why...maybe it's the fact that I am obsessed with Fall. Ok, NORTHERN Fall but I digress...we started it off with our annual family pumpkin carving...we were kinda cheapskates and just got one this year (we usually do our own but they're friggin expensive! Sheesh...).

We thought doing our family's hands would be cute...it didn't turn out all that well but hey, considering we had a dull knife and went free-hand, I was pretty impressed :)

And, because of my insanity about this holiday, I find any and all excuses to dress up, do "Fall"-ish things (yes, even in the blazing heat)! We also went to Yaya's school's Fall Festival...we go every year and Maddie always has a blast! Not wanted to show anyone her costume before Halloween, she decided to be a doctor (we had the outfit laying around. Her surgical cap? From when her tubes were put in :). Oh, I must specify, a unicorn doctor. She would correct me if I just said 'doctor'...

he he he...

Going in to the haunted house, gulp.....and coming out! She's a tough cookie, this one!

Pretty impressive form, kid to the right....

So I have come to the conclusion it is impossible to get a great photo of BOTH kids...this was the best I could muster of the little good (she would always make me specify:) witch and her black kitty!

I was pretty proud of my tulle-tying abilities...this was the easiest, least expensive costume of hers yet but also my favorite!! We had Gavin's ears from last year and I just sewed a felt orange belly onto a cheap onesie...simplifying ;)... but hey, these two would be cute in garbage sacks!

Trying to be creative with the food :)

I also thought it would be fun to include some games this year! The kids loved it!

We had such a fun group and the kids had so much fun. Total success!!
