This year was so much more fun than last! Maddie was a bit young still to really enjoy the festivities. This year was a whole other story! She is now into things...certain shows, characters, toys etc. I think this is partly because she spends so much time with Bella so she follows suit (as evidenced by her Tinkerbell pajamas!). Andy, Kathy, Hailey and Jacob also came down and it was the first Christmas in a few years we all had together! Santa, of course, was quite generous. As this will be the year of the "terrible twos" let's hope next year goes as well!

Making plates for Santa!

Maddie and I went to Morgan's to paint pottery with her and Grayson! It was fun...and a bit messy. Maddie did great but didn't quite understand to keep the paint on the project at hand. Unless my hair was the project at hand. Impromptu hair-coloring session perhaps? We made a couple of ornaments and plates for Santa's cookies using the kids' hand prints as reindeer. Don't give us any credit, like all great ideas, we Googled it!

Meeting Santa

It didn't go so well. The approach seemed fine. She even gave him a halfa smile. The photographer urged me on, so I begin to lower her into his lap. She looks at me, terrified. Garret is a distant voice mumbling something to the effect of "babe, don't...she's scared....". I, in my selfish need for a photo of this momentous occasion, propel her forward. She shrieks. And flails. And looks at me in horror. But...we did get a pretty hilarious picture that we can laugh about for years as she gets older. I doubt there's any permanent damage. Gulp.
